Crochet Gator Beanies

A co-worker and her husband are going through a difficult time in their life. I don’t know her (or her husband) too well but I still wanted to find a way to show her that I was thinking of her.

One day at work, I sent her a random zoom message asking what hobbies or interests her husband had.

Sports, football (especially Gators), and the Back to the Future movies. Turns out that they are both UF Alumni (like me)!

And just like that, I knew I was making matching His and Hers Gator Beanies.

I decided to try out a new crochet beanie pattern and it did NOT turn out well. The instructions claimed it was for men but it didn’t even fit me! I was so disappointed when I had to unravel and start over.

Making crochet gifts for others proved to be a new challenge. I was never sure if I was making the hat too big or too small.
